Rajamahendravaram: A literary gathering celebrating Telugu literature and human emotions witnessed the grand launch of “Kanneeti Santhakam” (Signature of Tears), a collection of short stories authored by renowned poet, writer and Kala Ratna awardee Kathimanda Pratap Kumar, in Rajamahendravaram.
The book was formally released by Dr. James Watt Kommu, a prominent businessman, NRI and social activist, and the Sri Sri Kalavedhika USA Ambassador and Representative. Dr. Kommu has been associated with initiatives aimed at promoting Telugu language, literature and culture internationally.
The event brought together writers, artists, literary enthusiasts and distinguished personalities, creating an atmosphere that celebrated the richness of Telugu storytelling.
Stories Rooted in Human Emotion
“Kanneeti Santhakam” explores the delicate and often overlooked emotions that exist within human relationships. The stories reflect the struggles, pain, affection and changing dynamics of ordinary lives.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the collection, Kathimanda Pratap Kumar emphasized that a writer must understand human pain and emotions to create stories that genuinely connect with readers. The collection attempts to bring to light the truths of life that often remain hidden behind everyday experiences.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. James Watt Kommu spoke about the increasingly mechanical nature of modern life and the impact of rapid social change on human relationships. He observed that literature can serve as a powerful reflection of the transformations taking place in society.
He highlighted how the stories in Kanneeti Santhakam portray weakening family bonds, changing relationships and the emotional challenges faced by people in contemporary society.
A Book That Connects With Everyday Life
Popular film comedian Bhadram, who participated in the programme, appreciated the literary depth of the collection and its portrayal of the emotions and struggles of ordinary people.
In a gesture of respect and gratitude, Pratap Kumar presented the first copy of Kanneeti Santhakam to Dr. James Watt Kommu, making the occasion even more memorable.
Telugu Literature Beyond Borders
Dr. James Watt Kommu’s involvement also reflects the growing efforts to take Telugu literature and culture to a global audience. As Sri Sri Kalavedhika’s USA Ambassador and Representative, he has expressed his commitment to strengthening the organization’s cultural and literary presence in the United States. The organization has also announced plans to conduct Mini World Telugu Literary Conferences in the USA, bringing together Telugu writers, poets, artists and community leaders.
The launch of Kanneeti Santhakam therefore became more than just the release of a book—it was a celebration of Telugu literature, human relationships and the emotional power of storytelling.
The event concluded on a celebratory note, with literary personalities and guests appreciating Kathimanda Pratap Kumar’s contribution to contemporary Telugu literature and wishing Kanneeti Santhakam great success among readers.
“Kanneeti Santhakam” stands as a reminder that behind every life, every relationship and every smile, there may be an untold story—and literature gives those emotions a voice.
